Welcome to Winscombe District u3a. Winscombe and our neighbouring village of Sandford are situated on the north side of the Mendip Hills, 3-4 miles from Axbridge and Cheddar and 6 miles east of Weston-Super-Mare.
The group was launched in the spring 2014 and now has a lively membership of 170 involved in 22 Study and Activity groups where members are encouraged to contribute their skills, knowledge and experience to shared learning. You can share your expertise gained from a working life or have some hobby that you are willing to share with others.
Come along to the coffee mornings, 10.00am – Midday at the Winscombe Community Centre on the 1st Monday of each month where you can find out what's on, sign up to various groups and events and meet friends over a cup of tea/coffee and a biscuit or two for £2.00 to cover the venue hire.
We hold a Speaker-meeting once per month at the Community Centre on the third Monday (except August and December) from 2–4pm. Our speakers cover a wide range of interesting subjects.
Single Annual membership fee is £14.00. Joint Annual membership is £24.00. The membership year from 1st June to 31st May, includes ‘ Third Age Matters’ the national u3a magazine sent to you by direct mail.
